Megan and Adam planned a beautiful wedding at the stunning White Chapel at Rose-Hulman. A gorgeous and unique backdrop for the many outdoor photos we had planned. But then, rain. All day-long rain. The rain kept us inside and changed our game plan and abbreviated our photos, but Megan and Adam didn’t care. They were just excited to get married and I loved their spirit. Thankfully the rain stopped for just about five minutes to allow us some quick time outside to capture some sweet photos surrounded by the incredible architecture and scenery from the White Chapel.
I can’t thank Megan and Adam enough for their wonderful attitude and excitement for their wedding day. We may not have gotten the hours and hours of beautiful outdoor photos that we had been dreaming up, but the photos we did get were so great. But more importantly, every single person at this wedding had a great time and a big huge, happy smile. It was a real honor to spend the day with so many wonderful people. Congrats to Megan and Adam. You two are truly the best!
Thanks to Abby Hacker for second shooting this wedding and for being the best road-trip buddy.
I also loved this session because Rachel is one of my oldest friends. We lived right down the street from one another as kids. We spent every summer day together at the pool, we slumber partied in her basement and watched more Full House than others probably thought was humanly possible. My favorite part of Rachel’s session was looking through my view finder and watching the sun glisten in her beautiful, red hair. Even though Rachel and I are grown and creating our own families, I’ll always think of us as kids. Because running through the neighborhood with my redheaded friend Rachel will always be some of my very favorite memories.
Betsy has a way of making everyone and every moment special. Starting with putting her wedding dress on in her childhood home. Her mom and sister couldn’t stop smiling and when her dad saw her, he beamed. I couldn’t help but think of how much love that room had seen over the years and how many special moments were shared in there. As a parent, I couldn’t dream of a happier room or a happier moment to share with my child.
Together Betsy and Matt are fun and thoughtful and they planned a wedding that was exactly like them. They included everyone in their traditional dances. They requested a group photo with all of their guests. They thanked all their family and friends for celebrating with them. And everyone, truly everyone, was included and made special at Betsy and Matt’s wedding. They’re just a special couple and I’m so, so happy that I was able to share and photograph such a wonderful day. Congratulations to Betsy and Matt. Wishing you so much happiness. Enjoy this sneak peek.
I always think there’s something so romantic about a winter wedding and this one was no exception. Maybe it’s brides cuddling into their new husbands to escape the cold, maybe it’s the dull overcast that you can almost surely count on from an Indiana January sky, maybe it’s bridesmaids wrapped in scarves. Whatever it is, I’ve really become a sucker for a chilly wedding-and I think these pictures will turn you into a winter wedding fan too.
Congrats to Abbie and Tom on a beautiful start to 2015. I’m thrilled for you both!
Wishing you all a beautiful holiday season, a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
